Der Workshop richtet sich an Analphabetinnen mit Migrationshintergrund, lernende Migrantinnen, die bereits alphabetisiert wurden oder sich aktuell noch in der Grundbildungphase befinden, sowie an alle weiteren Lernenden, die an der Alphabetisierung von Migranten/innen interessiert sind.

The Workshop adresses all illiterate Migrants, Migrants who are receiving basic education classes and all other learners who are interested in Education of illiterate Migrants.

Im Workshop ‘Grundbildung und Integration von Migrantinnen’ werden folgende Themen, Problematiken und Methoden praktisch und theoretisch aufgearbeitet und vermittelt:

• Analphabetisnus, Geschlecht und soziale Benachteiligung. Ein Überblick über die Situation in den Herkunftsländern und den Einwanderungsgesellschaften der Teilnehmenden.
• Geschlechtsspezifische Rollenmuster bei der Erlangung von Bildung, Chancen und Problematiken der Bildungerlangung.
• Analphabetismus und Grundbildung im Zusammenhang mit der Integration von Migrantinnen.
• Grundbildung und ihre Bedeutung im Integrationsprozess unter besonderer Berücksichtigung erfolgreicher Lebenswege der 2ten und 3ten Einwanderergeneration
• Selbstständiges Lesen und Schreiben lernen: Fallbeispiele und praktische Anleitung für den Alltag.
• Die Methodik von Lehrwerken für Analphabeten – Welche Lehrwerke gibt es? Wie sind die Lektionen aufgebaut? Gemeinsam mit den Teilnehmern des Workshops wird eine exemplarische 1te Lehrwerkslektion ausgearbeitet.

The main topics of the workshop are:

• illiteracy – gender – and social discrimination,
• gender related aspects of education – chances and problems while gaining education,
• the context of education an integration of migrants,
• education and its purpose during the integration process with focus on the 2nd and 3rd generation of immigrants,
• methods of applied learning for illiterates,
• the aim and structure of schoolbooks for illiterate people.

The workshop starts with a brief summary contextualising the background of illiteracy, gender and culture in the countries of origin and immigration. Afterwards the participants will reflect in roundtable discussion their own education path and the necessity of education within the immigrant country.

In the days the seminar takes place the topics gender and education will be stressed especially unter the integrational point of view. Several interviews with migrants who succeeded in learning how to read and write will be done.
In the last parts of the workshop practical advices about different learning methods will be given.

The participants will also create one chapter of a new handbook for illiterate migrants living in different countries of the European Union.
